South South Coalition on Urban Girls host “Girls Matter” Rally

On July 1st, the South Side Coalition on Urban Girls hosted a “Girls Matter” Rally! Our partners tied ribbons from 63rd to 127th street to symbolize that we not only need to #BringBackOurGirls, but we need to be empowering girls WORLDWIDE. At our “Girls Matter” Rally we wanted to remind every one of the VALUE of girls.

Those 300 girls in Nigeria are still lost, and we refused to toss the #BringBackOurGirls story out like yesterday’s leftovers and trade them in for the latest news headlines and celebrity gossip. However, we have an epidemic of girls being forgotten, not just in Nigeria, but in our OWN communities. Where are the resources and attention for girls in Nigeria, America, and all over? Our girls are too VALUABLE to be cast aside. GIRLS MATTER!

Check out a few pictures below from the rally.
