Coaltion on Urban Girls (CUG) Quarterly Meeting

Join us for our Quarterly Meeting!

Coalition on Urban Girls– Chicago

(Formerly the South Side Coalition on Urban Girls)

The Coalition has aligned its strategic goals with the five pillars presented in the “Advancing Equity for Women and Girls of Color Report”, commissioned by the White House Council on Women and Girls. This quarter’s meeting will address:

Topic: Pillar #3: Inclusive S.T.E.M. Education

Significant opportunity gaps exist in STEM education and careers for women, especially for women and girls of color. Although more women graduate from college and participate in graduate programs than men, women’s participation in science and engineering significantly differs by field of study, at both the undergraduate and graduate level.

Come and hear our panel of experts discuss barriers and opportunities for inclusive STEM education. There will be a special presentation on findings from a STEM research study conducted by girls in the Roseland community. After each quarterly meeting a special “Think Tank” is hosted to develop an action plan to specifically address the pillar. Join one of our work groups and network with other organizations and institutions committed to the success of girls in Chicago!
