On Monday, May 5, 2014, Fox 32 Chicago News Reporter Darlene Hill visited our office to discuss girl violence with Demoiselle 2 Femme staff and students. This special report aired Tuesday, May 6th and showcased how D2F is providing solutions to this issue of violence among girls.
Twenty-four girls currently participating in our programs were interviewed by Ms. Hill. During a separate interview with our CEO, Sherida Morrison responded to the issue by saying, “She who is not taught by her mother is taught by the world. What we have right now in our community are girls who are being taught by the world. Bad Girls Club, Real House Wives-they all say if she says something I don’t like or if something happens I fight.”
Demoiselle 2 Femme, NFP currently runs several programs offering workshops that focus on personal development, critical thinking skills, and self-efficacy (practice). For more information on our programs, click here.

I am so thankful to be a part of this organization as a volunteer and facilitator. It has been a blessing to me as well as I to it. There is another girls program im also involved with known as REACH founded by Barbara Elzy a fellow member and spiritual leader at Apostolic Church. I feel that these organizations and others like it should partner to reach a even greater mass of our young girls.
