Teen Pregnancy Prevention through a Holistic Ecological Model
In a desire to measure our impact through more rigorous evaluation, Demoiselle 2 Femme has partnered with Chapin Hall at the University of Chicago to examine teen pregnancy prevention through a holistic youth development approach. The research is funded through the Personal Responsibility Education Program (PREP) of the Administration for Children and Families under the Affordable Care Act.
Using the Demoiselle 2 Femme, NFP’s 3-D PRIDE curriculum as the intervention along with our holistic services (personal development, mentorship, college/career access, service learning, educational and cultural field trips) we are striving to delay sexual activity, pregnancy and STIs among teen girls. Through the conduits of these services, girls gain self-sufficiency and access to explore a world of opportunities for a healthier future.
